SEATTLE THUNDERBIRDS: Assistant Coach Rumble Moving On

KENT, July 5, 2013 ? Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell this morning announced assistant coach Darren Rumble has accepted the head coaching position with the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

?Darren did a very good job for us and we wish him all the best with his new team as a head coach,? said Farwell.

?Russ and Steve are two of the finest people I have ever had the privilege to be associated with, both personally and professionally. This was not an easy decision as the T-Birds are on the upswing and there are going to be some exciting times ahead for the team,? said Rumble. ?Professionally though this was an opportunity to be a head coach I couldn?t pass up. I would like to thank all the T-Birds fans for their support the last two years and wish the team all the best going forward.?

The T-Birds will begin a search for a new assistant coach immediately. The new assistant coach will join head coach Steve Konowalchuk and assistant coach Jim McTaggart behind the bend for the 2013-14 season. Candidates interested in joining the T-Birds coaching staff should send a cover letter and resume to general manager Russ Farwell at hr@seattlethunderbirds.com.

Rumble was an assistant coach with the T-Birds for the past two seasons. He joined the T-Birds on June 28, 2011.
